In order to find the best Glasgow Indian restaurants it is almost essential that you have an appetite for Indian food and have some basic knowledge of how Indians cook and what recipes they use. In our most recent trip to Glasgow members of the gallery went in search of the best Glasgow Indian Restaurants. We found that there were lots of different ingredients in the mix that makes up the best Indian restaurant so without further ado here is what we found.
Location was one of our most important key factors on our checklists when we surveyed Glasgow looking for the best Glasgow indian restaurants the city had to offer. We eventually settled on the Dhabba which is located in the City’s iconic merchant city quarter. One of the unique features about the Dhabba’s location is the beautiful and engaging architecture located around it. The merchant city is a combination of old and new buildings which allows for a unique metropolitan feel to the area. There are plenty of trendy bars and restaurants across the merchant quarter making it feel like a hotspot for dining out. Location is really important for us when looking for a restaurant as it adds to the overall atmosphere of the meal itself.
Service And Food
These two factors are probably the most important of them all. The service and quality of food you receive within an industry restaurant can vary from restaurant can vary depending on where you go but generally speaking all the venues we have visited have been very hospitable and friendly and have provided a really pleasant meal. When we visited the Dhabba we received a warm welcome ans were made to feel at home within seconds of stepping into the establishment. This really can make all the difference when you are eating out and we overall greatly appreciated the hospitality of the Dhabba and its staff.
Moving onto service when it was a little busier the staff remained calm and very effective under pressure never faltering and ensuring that we were looked after. The food was over and above what we expected and exceeded our expectations. The curries and sweets were bursting with flavour and fresh ingredients and were made with traditional recipes. Furthermore we found the portions to be hearty but not too much so allowing for the perfect amount of food not too much or too little.
Other Factors To Consider
When it comes to eating out there are a lot of fine details that can really make the difference for peoples meals. We were very impressed with the Dhabba’s selection of gluten free and vegetarian options as the majority of the menu could be chosen for people who suffer a gluten allergy. This is really accommodating and goes to show that the Dhabba pays attention and caters to all its diners. Menu selection is also a big factor consider when eating out , lets face it , you never want to have a menu which only offers a few set meals. Overall our experience finding the best Indian restaurants in Glasgow was a blazing success and the Dhabba has to get our vote!
Increasingly Art is being used in a different environments as well as in a number of different ways. One of the great things about art is that it is open to everyone and it can be interpreted by everyone in different ways. Increasingly art is being used in locations such as prisons as well as hospitals to allow an outlet for those who are within institutions.
Art And Therapy
There are a number of reasons as to why art and therapy are closely aligned. One of the reasons for this is that art helps to relax people and studies have shown that people who are engaged in art are often much more placid and relaxed. This can be highly beneficial to a variety of people from those who are mentally ill , criminals , people suffering from trauma etc. They can all benefit from trying art and engaging with it. Some of the worlds most famous artists with one of the best examples being Vincent van gogh suffered from mental health conditions which eventually led to his suicide. However prior to his demise he produced many pieces of art which were worth little at the time but are now worth tens of millions of pounds.
One of the redeeming qualities of art and reasons that it is so popular as a form of therapy is that it encourages creativity and does not require a set skill level in order to be able to take part. This means that art is accessibly to the majority of people and it can be enjoyed at their leisure. Another benefit of art is that it can be introduced into communities to encourage people to get involved in different activities. This can help to bring communities together and keep people away from crime.
As well as the use of art in therapy , there are a wide number of other activities that can be used as part of a treatment routine for therapy. One of the most popular forms of therapy often offered is music. Music like art is accessible to pretty much anyone. Studies and research have shown that certain types of music can help to relax people and be used as therapeutic aid. A lesser known form of therapy which is becoming increasingly popular in the UK as well as other parts of the world is surfing. Surfing is typically associated with extreme sports. Whilst this is true, increasingly people and organisations are seeing the many benefits that surfing can bring to people as a form of therapy. Surfing can help to relax the mind and the sea can bring benefits to health and well being. Increasingly this form of therapy is being seen more and more often across the UK.
Overall to conclude there are a number of different things that can be summarised. It is clear that whilst many are suffering and need support the variety of help and support available as well as many different forms of therapy available for people.
With the likes of Nike and the BBC putting a huge push on their advertising of Women’s Football – we are seeing and hearing a lot more of the game, especially in the UK. Both the Scotland and England Women’s national teams have qualified for the 2019 World Cup in France against teams such as Argentina and Brazil. This has been a huge achievement for British sporting teams. Here is an insight into how Women’s Football.
Bend It Like Beckham Effect
In 2002, the film Bend It Like Beckham was released – a film about an Indian/English girl breaking cultural rules with her talent of bending the ball…like Beckham! It was a move towards equality within sport and especially football. With women becoming more and more visible – commenting, presenting shows and referring in the men’s games.
Equal Pay Within Sport
Its common knowledge that male footballers make an absolute fortune – around £50,000 a week. Where as female footballers don’t make anywhere near this amount. This is partly to do with advertising and TV showings. More people prefer to watch the mens league rather than woman’s however is this because mens football is shown more? Male footballers are like celebrities in all the magazines and newspapers and all over TV. If we can get the FA or the SFA to encourage the support of women’s football and televise it more we can increase the pot of money going into women’s football.
The USA, Scotland and England women’s teams have smashed records more than their male counterparts. With all three teams making it to the 2019 World Cup – something Scotland and the USA have failed to do since 1998. The Womens teams have been far more successful in recent years so why shouldn’t people want to support them. With the lead up to the World Cup in France the BBC, Nike and other big brands have advertised very heavily on Women’s football. A recent campaign saw hundreds of billboards with the statement ‘They’re Better Than You ̶T̶h̶i̶n̶k̶ ‘
